Food for Thought


Blog #2: Food for Thought

 I choose this two images because good food make me feel good and look forward in sharing this with my family. For me food is a big part of my life and my family! Having nutritious, delicious and healthy food will help me physically because my body will feel better, fight all the disease and make me feel young. Emotionally because I believe that everything start inside your body so if you are nourishing your body with the right food it will have a big impact in your body!. Socially because if your body is nourish well your soul is the same too and it will be easy to deal with people if you feel confident with your self!

Honestly every time I prepare/cook food inside my house I always make a different representation! For example when I make spaghetti and meatballs I always separate the Pasta and the sauce. I will place the pasta first then two meatballs for the eyes, pasta sauce as the mouth and the nose, another two meatballs for the ears and lastly I will spread the pasta a little bit as the hair.  I love to do this because I saw that my kids eat their food when it is entertaining for them. Me and my husband enjoy it too because we feel like we are kids again. This is a very easy set up and everybody can do it! This is a simple meal but if you try it, it can be entertaining!

3.      

A perfect meal for me is it have to be nutritious, healthy, easy to prepare and enjoyable to it! My recipe for this will be Oven Bake Chicken, mashed potatoes, tossed salad and plantains (I know it sound weird but my family love Plantains!) Bake chicken for protein and it have less oil, mashed potato have a carbohydrate to make you feel full, tossed salad for minerals and vitamins and lastly Plantains for Potassium ( Also this serve as a dessert for us!) This is a perfect meal because it is healthy and nutritious and this is what my family need! I always do my grocery shopping every saturday morning and everything that I will cook for the week is in my list. My family will be sharing all my grocery list. This will be served all my house and I will be hoping that all in my list will be used for a week! This kind of meal is prepared almost everyday in my house the only reason I cant prepare this is when I am out of town or I need to have a late meeting which is very rare in my schedule! I know all the meals that I prepare really help me to be more energetic, focus, sane and happy. Sharing this meal to my family everyday is very memorable to me! I treasure every moment that I spend with them!

Ordering fast food  is not a perfect meal for us because I know they are not healthy, too much hormone on it and we know that it is not good for our body. For example I just order Boston Market Chicken and their side dishes! We are so disappointed because the chicken taste old and dry, the side dish is very salty like the mashed potatoes and greens! Every thing look weird when  we open the bag. "It look like somebody shake it so bad that the chicken got drunk!"  This is a fast food chain and food are prepared without care that is why the food is becoming worst and worst. They buy it in bulk and they don't really care as long as they can served food to customer. We hardly do this only when I know I won't be able to cook our dinner! Every time I will have this kind of food for dinner I really feel tired and want to bed right away! Sometimes I feel very hungry in the middle of the night!

    - Is there anything you could do make this type of chicken meal more memorable for you and your family?

    - For the Boston Market fast food dinner... what's going on in your day that leads you to pick up fast food for dinner that day? How often does this occur?

  2. Hi The green ball is a stress ball. This ball help me in releasing all my stress and its like food that every time I will eat food that I desire it relieve my stress in life.
    My oven bake is so easy to prepare I marinate it with 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of Paprika, 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper, 1 tablespoon of Garlic Powder and some Pepper Flakes if I want it spicy! Place it in a 8x12 Baking Dish and 375 degrees in the over for 45 min to 60 min.
    We usually eat this during dinner time but sometimes I will bring a few in the office for lunch!
    I wish I can make it much faster than 45 min in the over and make it very delicious!
    I end up Buying BM because it is too late for me to prepare dinner because of the time it will take me 1 hr to do it and we eat dinner at 6:30 because my kids go to bed by 9PM.
